Rock n Vila 2022 (3rd & 4th June)
The Rock festival in the village is back on June 3 and 4, after two years of interregnum in the face of the pandemic of Covid-19. The Parque de Feiras de Vila de Rei is once again receiving well-known names of national music.
Organized by the municipality of Vila de Rei, this is the seventeenth edition of the Festival and presents as main attractions Murta and rapper Plutonio, among other fantastic bands that will present shows of great quality to the thousands of festivalers expected in another Rock in the Village.
The 17th Rock Festival in the Village will then have the following program:
June 3 - Article 21; (Re)-Invention; Myrtle; DJ Nuno Calado; DJ Gonçalo Flour
The 'Article 21' are a band, born in Lisbon, which will show their Punk Rock style sung in Portuguese. Influenced by the mythical American punk-rock of the 1990s and punk-rock sung in Portuguese, the band manages to create a sound of its own and easily identifiable with the mixture of their musical references.
New rock band in Portuguese, the '(Re)-Invention' are composed of musicians already with extensive experience, coming from the old band 'Mercadoria', who have already passed through several stages and played with names such as Richie Campbell or Diogo Piçarra. The '(Re)-Invention' promise another must-see show!
'Myrtle' is the head-to-head of this first night of the Festival. Very well known to the national public after his participation in the television program 'The Voice', where he was a finalist, Francisco Murta is a regular presence at the top of national radio through his themes 'Why' (with more than 7.5 million views on Youtube), 'Vou-te Amar', 'Saudade' or 'Palavra'.
A well-known name of the dance floors at the national level, DJ Nuno Calado will be present in the electronic tent of rock in the village. With a long journey on national radio, being at the foundation of Antena 3 and having been noted for his program "Indiegente", Nuno Calado will always be associated with musical quality, with his sets being a journey of fun by various epics of music.
After the success of his presence in the electronic tent of the last edition of the Fair of Sausages, Cheese and Honey, DJ Gonçalo Farinha will make his debut as DJ of the Rock Festival in the Village. Born in Proença-a-Nova, DJ Gonçalo Farinha has already been present on some of the main tracks in the central area of the country and is now preparing to animate the festival-goers of Vila de Rei until the wee hours of the morning.
June 4 – Blues & Other Tones; Palomita and los Gringos Locos; Plutonio; Djs Kiss Bang Bang Kiss; DJ Seadas and MC Pinkie
'Blues & Other Tones' will feature original themes and covers of world music greats such as Muse, Coldplay, Queen, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, among many others. Musicians look for diversity, colors, genres and aim to create beauty with dissonances and counterpoints.
'Palomita e los Gringos Locos' is paloma del Pillar's new project, which returns to the rock festival stage in the village. The singer will show her musical style well known to the Portuguese through her participation in various television music competitions, such as 'Factor X' (2013), 'Ídolos' (2015), 'Just Duet' (2017) and 'The Voice (2020).'
Rapper Portuguese Plutonio will make his debut in Vila de Rei and put to the red the much public expected for his performance. Themes such as 'Caffeine', 'My God', 'April 1', 'Última Vez', 'Somos Iguais' or 'Vergonha na Cara' have gained millions of views on Youtube and will certainly be heard in Vila de Rei on the night of June 4.
Plutonio has already gone through major national stages, especially performances at NOS Alive, Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, or Hard Club, in Porto.
The Kiss Kiss Bang Bang DJs are a regular presence in major festivals and academic events throughout the country, making their debut on the Vilarregenses stage in 2022. The Duo of DJs is known for combining varied musical styles with an excellent vocal interaction with the audience throughout the performance.
Closing the 17th edition of Rock in the Village, the duo Vilarregense DJ Seadas & MC Pinkie returns to the electronic tent of the Festival and promises new moments of pure fun. To the sound of the best hits of the most different musical styles, the duo always offers moments of fun and interaction with the audience.
Tickets to the 17th Rock Festival in the Village are free, as is the campsite that presents excellent conditions for those who wish to camp and enjoy the event in all its fullness.
